Adventure family water games brought together competitors from three countries in Calafat, Romania

More than 50 family sports representatives from Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania competed on the Danube River at Debarkader Beach in Calafat, Romania in the third Adventure Team Water Games

Competitors from three countries – Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria, lovers of family adventure sports, competed in team games for families on the water. The third consecutive games were hosted by Calafat-Duven Association, Romania, and the forum was part of the activities of the Water Adventure Games for Families project. It is implemented by four non-governmental organizations –”Consult Group”, Bulgaria, “Calafat – Duven” Association, Romania, “Vega Youth Center” association from Serbia and “Bononia” Water and Rowing Sports Club, under the “Erasmus +” program, Sport. More than 50 representatives of family sports took part the three-day ones, and each country participated with a representative family team of 10 people. A day before the competition, a technical conference was held, where the disciplines, the participation regulations and the safety assurance for the participants were clarified.

The competition itself began with an opening ceremony, followed by the start of th dragon boats, in which one team each from Serbia and Romania, and two teams from Bulgaria, which covered the distance of about 500 meters demonstratively. The tug-of-war competition gathered the most emotions, as competitors from Serbia and Romania broke the tug-of-war in the hotly contested competition. However, the winner of this discipline was the team of the “Bononia” sports club. Two more disciplines offered in the race included a race on water with pontoons that were propelled by the participants with oars and throwing a ball into a belt located in the water. The two events brought a lot of emotions to the numerous spectators who came to celebrate the holiday of the naval forces in Romania.e first of the three disciplines – the dragon boat race. For this purpose, the organizers had provided 4 There was no winner in the final ranking, and the hosts had provided gold medals for all participants, a symbol of respect for the competitors, as well as cups and prizes. They were handed over personally by the mayor of Calafat – Doru Mitulenu. Apart from the competition, the hosts from the Calafat-Duvain Association also organized additional attractive competitions such as sack jumping, spooning balls, dragon boat ride and attractions for the spectators. These were also the last adventure games for families that took place under the project. On June 23-25, the games started in Belgrade, the next host was in Vidin, where the second adventure games were held on Lake Rabisha. Water Manifestations ended in Calafat, Romania on June 14-16.

The next activities of the “Water adventure games for families” project will continue in Vidin, with a conference to report on the results of the events and will end with the third transnational meeting of the partners of the project “Water adventure games for families” – “Consult Group”, Bulgaria , Calafat – Duven Association, Romania, Vega Youth Center Association from Serbia and Bononia Water and Rowing Club, in Calafat, Romania. On the last third day of the games, an awarding ceremony took place, in which the winners of the individual disciplines were awarded.
