The first Water Adventure Games for families on the water are being held in Belgrade, as a project of four non-governmental organizations from three countries
Four teams from three countries, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania, are competing at the Water Adventure Games for Families in Belgrade from June 23 to 25 on an island in the Danube River – Plaža Lido. Only families took part in the competitions in three attractive water disciplines. The forum is part of the activities of the project “Water adventure games for families”, which is implemented by four non-governmental organizations – “Consult Group”, Bulgaria, “Calafat – Duven” Association, Romania, “Vega Youth Center” association from Serbia and “Bononia” Water and Rowing Sports Club, under the “Erasmus +” program, Sport.
The three-day events brought together more than 50 representatives of family sports and spectators to watch the competition. On the first day of the games, a technical conference was held, at which the disciplines, the regulations for participation and the provision of safety for the participants. The race itself started on the second day from the pontoon of the Arka Barka Hotel in the Danube River. Forty competitors from four teams (ten from each organization) started in inflatable boats on a course of nearly three kilometers from the pontoon of the “Arka Barka” hotel on the Danube River to the beginning of an island in the river – Plaža Lido. Despite the bad weather – rain and wind, the Bulgarian representatives from the “Consult Group” association and the “Bononia” Water and Rowing Sports Club won convincingly over their competitors from Serbia and Romania. The second race offered a slalom race with inflatable boats and a water course run with a SUP board. The last team event involved assembling a raft from materials provided by the hosts – logs and plastic cans, with which each team had to assemble a raft and travel a certain distance on the water with it. The competitions ended with the announcement of the final results and awarding of the winners. Thus, in the final complex ranking, the first place the team of “Consult Group” won, followed by the hosts from “Youth Center “Vega” – Belgrade, Serbia, the third place went to the team of SKGVS “Bononia”, and the fourth place went to Association “Calafat – Duven”, Romania. The competition is the first of the series of adventure games, which are planned under the project “Water adventure games for families”. The next event is on July 28-30 at the lake in Rabisha, Vidin district, and the final competitions are scheduled in Calafat from August 14 to 16.
